CAPIT Sounds: Learn the Alphabet

CAPIT Sounds teaches children ages 3+ the Lowercase and Uppercase letters and their Sounds (phonemes). Our reinvented Alphabet Song teaches the sounds of the letters, and uses Mnemonics to help children remember them. Our Matching Game gives children ample opportunity to practice their Phonemic Awareness (PA) skills, which fully prepares them for future Phonics instruction.

CAPIT Sounds is a stand-alone app that your child can play with and learn from on their own.

CAPIT Sounds has no monsters, letter-eating-frogs, or flying spacecrafts. Its clean design and patent-pending system helps parents give their children the pre-reading skills necessary to succeed in kindergarten, and beyond. CAPIT Sounds is fun and enjoyable, accommodating all children, whether gifted, EL, or struggling.

CAPIT Sounds is part of a suite of Capit Learning apps that gives young children the Alphabet knowledge they need before they enter school, or the extra support and scaffolding they need at home to support their school’s reading curriculum. The National Reading Panel (NRP, 2000) has outlined the five components of reading instruction: 1. Phonemic Awareness; 2. Phonics; 3. Fluency; 4. Vocabulary; and 5. Comprehension. CAPIT Sounds covers the first of these Big 5: A thorough Phonemic Awareness training.
